Huimin Wang is a Senior Member of IEEE and an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, with extensive expertise in power electronics, electric motor drives, sensorless control, and reliability of power electronic systems, particularly for railway and traction applications. He received his B.Eng. (2016), Ph.D. (2019) in Electrical Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, and was a Guest Ph.D. at Aalborg University, Denmark (2019–2020). Dr. Wang has led and participated in numerous nationally funded research projects, with total funding exceeding RMB 5 million, including projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key R&D Program of China, and provincial foundations, focusing on fault-tolerant control, sensorless traction drives, thermal monitoring, reliability analysis, and health monitoring of power electronic components in high-speed and urban rail systems. His research interests span induction and permanent magnet motor sensorless control, PLL/FLL-based speed estimation, electro-thermal modeling, IGBT and SiC device temperature monitoring, fault diagnosis, and system stability of train-grid interactions. Dr. Wang has published extensively in leading journals such as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, Power Electronics, Industry Applications, Transportation Electrification, and related CSEE and CPSS journals, with multiple ESI Highly Cited and Hot Papers, as well as a scholarly monograph on sensorless control of AC motor drives. He earned his PhD in Social Work from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2022, focusing on capital penetration and coping strategies of traditional Hindu fisherfolk in Bangladesh, and holds a Master of Arts in Inter-Asia NGO Studies from SungKongHoe University, South Korea, and an MBA and BBA from the University of Chittagong. Currently, he serves as a Part-Time Faculty at the Department of Media Studies and Journalism, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), teaching courses such as Strategic Communication and Strategic Public Relations, while his teaching interests encompass development studies, poverty, social policy, governance, project management, migration, social work, and advanced research methodologies.
